I am standing by my window as I watch the rain pouring down.
Its days like these I love the most because it transcends
The emotions I feel inside,
Rain cascading as they fell in droplets on the parking area
Outside my window, little puddles starting to be created.
Grey clouds turning darker, as people outside are running to find
A hiding place, no escaping the rain as we trample through it,
Cars driving by as their windshields been wiped by their wipers.
Some are in their houses, some in their offices,
Me I am sitting and watching as the water collide downwards.
Tears from heaven coming down to bless us.
The feeling of water tapping down your forehead,
As the rain start to fall harder and louder.
Rainy winter days are here again,
Do you hear it, the sound of water falling on rooftops?
Making us want to be in our beds waiting till the winter rain
Has passed us by.
No more sunshine for the next three months as Cape Town winter
Hits in June running all the way through to August.
I love the winter rain, as I would always take slow walks
Getting that first fresh smell in the air, that is what rain brings,
That solitude, those feelings of newness.
Something that no one else can bring fought,
That is what winter rain brings solitude and contentment.

I love the vivid imagery ... rain is so cleansing, nourishing and peaceful ... like wiping the slate clean. At the moment, not only would I love some rain, but also some cooler temperatures ... at the moment, we are in summer and in a drought. The temperature is presently hovering a cool 78 degrees Fahrenheit with an expected 100 degrees in the shade. :-)
moving words.
wet, cool, and tight emotions.
well done!

There is something so hypnotic about rain and you've captured it in this beautiful poem.
