“When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.” – Lao Tzu
All the pain one endures
Sitting with all the sadness
The anger, resentment within one self,
When we get to that startling epiphany
Of now I have carried on too long
By dwelling on the painful torture
Of the past, of recreating the pain
People inflicted upon my soul.
As I stand by the end of my journey
The end of the new life I could endure.
Circling around on what I have had,
What I have lost, when I let go
Of what I am, of what I once was,
The love I stopped feeling,
The hurt, the brokenness
I become what God wants me to be
I become what I might be,
I become the woman who has strength
I become the philosopher that knows
Where she is going,
No more just a passer by
Or a drifter, but standing
On the holy ground that lead me
To who I can be again.
