My What if’s
I what if from dusk till dawn
I what if from south to north
Holding onto the past that left
Me wondering on so many
Unspoken words,
What if I tried harder?
What if I kept my mouth?
And stayed on in a life
That was making me both sick
And miserable,
You gone from my life,
A year till this day,
I still think of what we might have been,
Those thoughts of never holding you again,
Never see you smile,
Stuck in a world where I live off
The what ifs of my life.
From dusk till dawn
East to west,
All you left me with is with the ifs.

Yeah, it kind of is the only thing to do with 'what if' but don't dwell in it for too long because somewhat those what if might be just depressing in long run...
A great write I would say, when expressing how one miss another when that person left..
It is very hard not to dwell on the 'what-ifs'. Beautifully written!
Yeah, the 'what ifs.'
You have captured it well.
what ifs have a way of leaching on to us and draining us of our life's blood...
you captured your what ifs quite well...nice poem.
A lovely poem, Chimnese.
I'm also here to let you know you are featured here today:

If we can turn the clock back, we may make a different decision?
life is simply unpredictable,
bless you.
beautifully expressed emotions.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I had my 'what ifs' too and realized that 'what ifs' for the future is best than 'what ifs' of the past. Hugggs :)
There are always "what ifs", but I could drive myself crazy if I ponder on it too long! :-)
sorry, I'm a little slow this week!
awards are in. :)
